Iyabo O. Daramola, MD

Iyabo O. Daramola, MD is the Medical Director of Caring Hearts Medical Clinic. She founded Caring Hearts Medical Clinic in January of 2000. She is proud to have served thousands of families in San Diego county over the last decade as their Primary Care Physician. Her practice philosophy is simple and remains the cornerstone of how medical care is provided at Caring Hearts Medical Clinic. She believes that to truly CARE for the patient is the mainstay of providing true healing to the patient. When a health care provider truly connects with the patient, healing begins on different levels. The doctor and patient are able to achieve patient healthcare goals as a TEAM and the patient is able to make positive long lasting changes resulting in happier and healthier patients.

Dr. Daramola identifies herself first and foremost as a Practicing Clinician and patient advocate. She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. (Click here for more information on Internal Medicine). Her primary objective with her patients is to set a goal that maintains optimal health and prevents chronic disease. Patients understand that it is important to work together as a team to accomplish our goals of health and wellness. With this approach, patients play a very active role in the management of their health problems.

Dr. Daramola graduated from medical school at University of Ife, Nigeria. She completed Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at Sinai Hospital of Detroit and University of Hawaii Internal Medicine Residency Program. She moved to San Diego in 1998. Dr. Daramola believes that all patients should have access to health care regardless of their ability to pay. She founded the Caring Hearts Medical Foundation Free Clinic in 2001 (http://caringheartsmedicalfoundation.org). The FREE clinic operates on every third saturday at 2401 Reo Drive, San Diego, CA 92139. The FREE Clinic is staffed by volunteer physicians and ancillary health care professionals. Dr. Daramola does achieve work life balance and is very devoted to her family. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, watching movies and gardening.

Her long term goal is to convert Caring Hearts Medical Clinic to a community health center where comprehensive health care to all patients is provided regardless of their ability to pay.

Jimi O. Benson II, MD

Dr. Jimi Benson is a board certified physician specializing in Internal Medicine, the practice of adult general Medicine (Click here for more information on Internal Medicine). Dr. Benson Joined the Caring Hearts Medical Clinic as a Staff Physician in October 2011 after he graduated and completed residency from Howard University in Washington DC. He has been a welcome addition to the team with his energetic and easy-going personality. He enjoys community service, volunteering at our free monthly clinic and improving the well-being of his patients. Outside of Medicine, Dr. Benson is an avid tennis player. He also enjoys watching movies, listening to music, and dancing.
